Dr. Donald MacLeod

Veterinarian | Founder and Past-Partner

Bio

With over 50 years of experience as a veterinarian, it seems impossible to summarize Dr. MacLeod’s career in just a few paragraphs. “Farmers First” could easily be Donald’s slogan. He has always practiced veterinary medicine with immense respect for the work and the dedication that the farmers have for their animals, their industry and their community. Always keen to inspire future generations of dairy farmers, Donald has always had a genuine desire to encourage and foster an interest for agriculture in young people.

Having graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1973, Donald immersed himself in all aspects of veterinary medicine, starting Vankleek Hill Veterinary Services (form. MacLeod Vet Clinic), and later, the Hawkesbury Animal Hospital, and the Glengarry Animal Hospital.  With his teams, led by his wife Barbara, Donald was a real mentor to everyone that had the pleasure to work for him.

Now having sold his partnerships, Donald still keeps a pulse on veterinary medicine, and continues to stay on-top of any changes and advancements in the field. In his spare time, Donald enjoys skiing and travelling with family; he can also easily be convinced to enjoy an ice cream cone, or a nice glass of wine beside a well-stocked fire
