Dr. Mark Gérin

Veterinarian | Associate

Bio

I grew up in Casselman where I had a variety of small and medium sized pets including mice, rats, a guinea pig, chickens and a dog. I found my passion for cows and other farm animals while riding along with large animal vets and from a summer working on a dairy farm. I knew this was the path I wanted to follow and haven’t looked back since.

I graduated from the University of Guelph in 2023 and joined Vankleek Hill Veterinary Services the same year. Cows are awesome and I love spending my days working with them. I also have a special interest in small ruminant medicine and working with hobby farms. I aim to provide quality care for my patients and I like reading up on research so that I can provide evidence-based recommendations to my clients.

Fun facts about me:

1- During my anatomy classes, I became fascinated by bones and started building my collection. I quite enjoy the challenge of putting skeletons back together and I’m always looking for new additions. The stranger the better! So if you find a two headed animal on your farm, please give me a call!

2- I never outgrew my dinosaur phase. If someone created a real-life Jurassic Park, I’d be the first to volunteer to become a dino vet.

3- Much like my patients, I can be easily won over with food.
